This can cause misalignment, which not only looks bad but can compromise the sealing surface. In high lift cam engines that have had the rocker covers relieved, misaligned covers can also cause rocker interference unless even more material has been removed. For these reasons, we have developed alignment screws to ensure that rocker cover alignment is correct.
